Machu Picchu received nearly 12,000 tourists after reopening

Maritza Rosa Candia, director of the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Cusco (DDCC), reported that the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu received nearly 12,000 tourists, including locals, nationals and foreigners, since its reopening on February 15.

He explained that until the first day of March, the day of the reopening of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the world wonder received 11,940 visitors and the average is 650 per day, although on Sundays there are up to 1,000 tourists.
